The voice of Jehovah upon many waters

Jehovah — the LORD, the covenant name of the premortal Christ

The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters. Psalms 29:3–9

Seven times the psalm praises the mighty voice of the LORD, like thunder upon many waters. When Jesus appeared in the Kirtland Temple, His voice was as the sound of rushing great waters, even the voice of Jehovah.

How we know: Jehovah is the premortal Christ (Abraham 1:16; D&C 110:3–4)

• alludes to Revelation 1:15 — The glorified Christ: his voice as the sound of many waters.

Eternal King who gives peace

The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever. Psalms 29:10–11

Jehovah reigns forever and blesses His people with peace. That King is the Prince of Peace, who says, My peace I give unto you.

How we know: Jehovah is the premortal Christ (Abraham 1:16; D&C 110:3–4)
