Psalms 33

Creation by the word of the LORD

By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. Psalms 33:6–9

The heavens were created by the word of the LORD. John teaches that the Word was Jesus Christ, by whom all things were made, and the Father told Moses He created by His Only Begotten.

Trust in His holy name

Jehovah — the LORD, the covenant name of the premortal Christ

Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. Psalms 33:20–22

God's people wait for the LORD and trust in His holy name. That name is Jehovah's, and in LDS teaching salvation comes only through the name of Jesus Christ.

How we know: Jehovah is the premortal Christ (Abraham 1:16; D&C 110:3–4)
