Premortal Christ

Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Psalms 90:1–2

Moses praises the Lord who formed the earth and existed before the mountains, from everlasting to everlasting. Latter-day Saints understand this Creator-God of Israel to be Jehovah, Jesus Christ before His birth, who created the world under the Father.

How we know: Jehovah is the premortal Christ (Abraham 1:16; D&C 110:3–4)

  • interpreted by Moses 1:33 — Worlds without number were created by the Son, the Only Begotten.
  • the same title in Micah 5:2 — The coming Ruler 'whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.'

Jehovah

Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants. Psalms 90:13–14

Moses pleads with Jehovah to return and fill His people with mercy. The mercy of the premortal Christ is what makes weak, short-lived people glad.
