Revelation 4

The Trumpet Voice

After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. Revelation 4:1

'The first voice' John heard is the trumpet-like voice of chapter 1, which was the risen Christ. He now invites John into heaven to see the future.

LORD God Almighty

And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, LORD God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. Revelation 4:8

The heavenly beings repeat the song of the seraphim in Isaiah, whose LORD John's Gospel identifies as Christ. In this scene the praise is directed to the One on the throne, so the referent is shared or ambiguous.

Creator of All Things

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Revelation 4:11

The elders praise God as Creator. Latter-day Saints understand that the Father created all things through the Son, so this praise touches Christ's work even though the hymn is addressed to the One on the throne.
