For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. Romans 15:3
Paul points to Christ, who lived to please His Father rather than Himself, and reads a psalm of David as Christ's own words: the insults aimed at God fell on Him.

And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name. Romans 15:9
Paul quotes a psalm of David and hears in it the voice of the Messiah, David's greater Son, praising God among the Gentiles as the gospel goes to all nations.
Jehovah — the covenant name, rendered LORD
And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. Romans 15:10–11
The Gentiles are called to praise the LORD, the God of Israel; in Paul's argument it is through Christ, the premortal Jehovah, that the Gentiles come to praise Him.

Root of Jesse — the descendant who springs from the family line of Jesse, King David's father
And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust. Romans 15:12
Paul applies Isaiah's messianic title to Jesus Christ: the promised King from David's line who rises to reign and in whom even the Gentiles put their trust.

That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. Romans 15:16–17
Paul's calling is to serve Jesus Christ by taking the gospel to the Gentiles, and any success he has he credits to Christ.

Paul says everything accomplished in his ministry was done by Christ working through him, and he sought to preach Christ where His name had never been heard.

But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand. Romans 15:21
This line comes from Isaiah's song of the suffering Servant; the 'he' is the Messiah, and people who were never told about Him will see and understand. Paul sees this fulfilled as he preaches Christ to new lands.

Paul expects to bring the full blessings of Christ's gospel when he visits Rome.
