On the shoreline, the morning breaks,

Your voice calls softly through the waves.

And grace repeats my name.

But You whispered back to me:

If you love Me, child of Mine,

Then love what I've redeemed.

Every tear, every need unseen,

Is where I'm found, it's where I've been.

Feed My sheep when the night is cold,

Be the fire, be the fold.

That what you do for them, you've done for Me.

Not in temples of marble and gold,

But in hearts where compassion grows old.

But in wounds that choose to keep.

For I was hungry, I was poor,

I knocked upon your door.

And when you opened, mercy spoke,

And love became the Lord.

Every face, every soul you find,

Is the image of the Divine.
