Christ

And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:1

The Corinthians are still spiritual infants in their growth in Christ.

The Sure Foundation

For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:11

Jesus Christ is the only foundation for a life, a church, or a teacher's work; everything must be built on Him.

Judgment at His coming

Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. 1 Corinthians 3:13

'The day' is the day of the Lord's coming and judgment, when His presence will test every person's work like fire tests metal.
