Naboth as a type of Christ

And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die. 1 Kings 21:10–13

Naboth is an innocent man who will not give up his inheritance. He is condemned in a rigged trial by two false witnesses on a charge of blasphemy against God and the king, then killed outside the city. Christian readers have seen in this a foreshadowing of Jesus' trial and death.

Jehovah

Jehovah — 'I AM', the eternal, self-existent God

And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, 1 Kings 21:17–19

Jehovah sees the hidden crime a king thought was covered by legal forms and sends Elijah to name it. The premortal Christ is the righteous Judge who defends the innocent.

How we know: Jehovah is the premortal Christ (Abraham 1:16; D&C 110:3–4)

And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, 1 Kings 21:28–29

Even to wicked Ahab, Jehovah responds right away to real humility. The same Lord who pronounced judgment gladly delays it when a sinner humbles himself, a glimpse of Christ's mercy.
