Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. 1 Peter 1:2
Just as Moses sprinkled sacrificial blood on Israel to seal their covenant, the Saints are made clean and bound in covenant by the blood of Jesus Christ. The Father, the Spirit, and the Son each have a part in this verse.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 1 Peter 1:3

Faith tested like gold in fire will be honored when Jesus Christ appears again.

Peter quotes Jehovah's words to Israel in the law of Moses: 'be ye holy; for I am holy.' The God who spoke them is the premortal Christ, who calls His people to become like Him.

Redeem — to buy back, pay the price to set free
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 1 Peter 1:18–19
To redeem is to buy back. Our freedom from sin was not paid for with money but with Christ's own precious blood.

Lamb without blemish — the perfect sacrificial offering
But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 1 Peter 1:19
Peter says outright that Christ is like the spotless lamb of the law of Moses. The Passover lamb had to be without blemish because it pointed to the sinless Savior.

Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 1 Peter 1:20
Christ was chosen to be our Redeemer before the earth was created, in the premortal council, and then came to earth in the meridian of time for us.
