Messiah

Messiah — the Anointed One (Hebrew mashiach; Greek Christos)

But Abishai the son of Zeruiah answered and said, Shall not Shimei be put to death for this, because he cursed the LORD’s anointed? 2 Samuel 19:21–23

"The LORD's anointed" is the phrase later rendered Messiah and Christ. David, the anointed king, comes back in peace and pardons the man who cursed him, a picture of the Anointed One who forgives those who reviled Him.

Grace

For all of my father’s house were but dead men before my lord the king: yet didst thou set thy servant among them that did eat at thine own table. What right therefore have I yet to cry any more unto the king? 2 Samuel 19:28

Mephibosheth, lame and from the fallen house of Saul, knows he deserved nothing, yet the king seated him at his own table. It is a picture of the grace of Christ, who brings those who were "dead men" to eat at His table.
