Jehovah

LORD (Jehovah) — the eternal I AM, the covenant God of Israel

Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me; and, behold, he formed grasshoppers in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king’s mowings. Amos 7:1–6

Amos pleads for Israel and the LORD holds back the judgments He showed him. Jehovah, the premortal Christ, is shown as a God who hears intercession and is merciful; Amos's question 'by whom shall Jacob arise?' is answered fully only in the Redeemer.

Thus he shewed me: and, behold, the LORD stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand. Amos 7:7–8

In vision Amos sees the LORD standing with a plumbline, the tool that shows whether a wall is straight. Jehovah, the premortal Christ, measures His people by His true standard.

And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel. Amos 7:15–16

Amos was a herdsman, not a professional prophet, but Jehovah called him and he speaks in His name. The LORD who calls prophets from ordinary work is the premortal Christ.
