Jehovah

Jehovah (LORD) — "I AM", the covenant God of Israel

Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations. Ezekiel 14:6–11

Jehovah, the premortal Christ, pleads with Israel to repent and turn from the idols in their hearts. His purpose even in discipline is covenant restoration: "that they may be my people, and I may be their God."

Redeemer

Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD. Ezekiel 14:14–20

Even the most righteous people, like Noah, Daniel, and Job, could save only themselves, never their sons or daughters or their nation. That sets up a truth the scriptures later make plain: no mere mortal can atone for another's sins, which is why we need a Redeemer who can.
