Ezekiel 28

Jehovah

And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Zidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of thee: and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her. Ezekiel 28:22

Jehovah, the premortal Christ, says He will be glorified and shown to be holy when His judgments come. The chapter's contrast is sharp: a proud king who says 'I am a God' (verse 2) falls, while the true LORD makes Himself known.

How we know: the verse itself names Him

Thus saith the Lord GOD; When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob. Ezekiel 28:25–26

Jehovah promises to gather scattered Israel and let them live safely in their land. Latter-day Saints understand the gathering of Israel as the work of Jesus Christ, whose keys were restored in the Kirtland Temple. 'My servant Jacob' here means the patriarch, not the Messiah.

How we know: the verse itself names Him

• fulfilled by D&C 110:11 — Moses restores the keys of the gathering of Israel in the temple where Jehovah had just appeared (D&C 110:1-4); the gathering Ezekiel promises is carried on under those keys.
