Ezekiel 4

Bearing the iniquity of the people

Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it: according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it thou shalt bear their iniquity. Ezekiel 4:4–6

Ezekiel is told to bear the iniquity of Israel and Judah as a sign. It is only a sign-act, but the language of one person carrying a nation's iniquity points to Jesus Christ, who truly bore our sins.

Jehovah explains the sign and brings on the covenant curse He warned of. He also answers Ezekiel's plea by easing the command.
