Ezekiel 9

Jehovah

And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer’s inkhorn by his side; Ezekiel 9:3

The glory of the God of Israel, Jehovah the premortal Christ, starts to move out of the Holy of Holies, where He sat above the cherubim over the mercy seat. It is the first step of His departure from a temple His people have defiled.

How we know: Jehovah is the premortal Christ (Abraham 1:16; D&C 110:3–4)

Take His Name

And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. Ezekiel 9:4–6

The LORD spares everyone marked on the forehead, much as the destroyer passed over the houses marked with the lamb's blood at Passover. John's Revelation uses the same picture for the Savior's faithful followers who are sealed with God's name in their foreheads; being marked as His is what saves.
