Genesis 9

Jehovah

And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: Genesis 9:12–17

The covenant-making God promises never again to destroy the earth by flood and sets the rainbow as His sign. Ezekiel and John later see a rainbow surrounding the glory and throne of the Lord.

Jehovah

Jehovah — the unchangeable One, the eternal I AM (rendered LORD)

And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. Genesis 9:26

Noah names Jehovah as the God of Shem, the son through whom the covenant line (and later Abraham and Jesus) would come.
