Holy One of Israel — the holy God who made covenants with Israel
Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us. Isaiah 30:11–12
The rebellious people want the prophets to stop talking about the Holy One of Israel, the premortal Christ. He answers them anyway.
How we know: the verse itself names Him
Holy One of Israel — the holy God who made covenants with Israel
For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not. Isaiah 30:15
The Holy One of Israel offers salvation through returning (repentance) and resting in Him, not through horses and alliances. Israel refused.
How we know: the verse itself names Him
Jehovah — the covenant name, 'I AM', the Eternal One
And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him. Isaiah 30:18–19
Jehovah, the premortal Christ, waits patiently to show grace and mercy, and He answers His people as soon as they cry to Him.
How we know: Jehovah is the premortal Christ (Abraham 1:16; D&C 110:3–4)
And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers: Isaiah 30:20–21
The Lord promises His people will no longer lose sight of their teachers and will hear a guiding voice saying 'This is the way.' Many readers take the Hebrew as 'your Teacher', meaning the Lord Himself. It is a soft echo of Christ as the Way.
Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound. Isaiah 30:26
Jehovah binds up and heals His wounded people in the day of brightness. This echoes the healing Christ brings through His Atonement.
Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire: Isaiah 30:27–30
Isaiah describes the LORD coming from far off in fire, with a glorious voice and a revealed arm, to judge the nations while His people sing. Latter-day Saints read these images of His coming in burning glory as pointing to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
Mighty One of Israel — Israel's strong Deliverer
Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel. Isaiah 30:29
Worshippers go up to the mountain of the LORD singing, to the Mighty One of Israel. Nephi uses this same title for the Lord, calling Him Israel's Savior and Redeemer.
