Isaiah 64

Second Coming

Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence, Isaiah 64:1–3

God's people plead for Him to tear open the sky and come down in power, as He came at Sinai. The Doctrine and Covenants places this prayer in the mouths of the Saints awaiting Christ's Second Coming.

Second Coming

For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. Isaiah 64:4

No one but God knows the blessings He has prepared for those who wait for Him. The Doctrine and Covenants places this promise right before the Lord's coming in red apparel.

Jehovah (Father and Potter)

But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. Isaiah 64:8

Israel calls the LORD their Father and Potter, humbly asking Him to reshape them. Christ, the Creator, is the Father of those born again through Him.
