Den of robbers: the Lord's house cleansed

And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations? Jeremiah 7:10–11

Jehovah says the temple called by His name has become a den of robbers, and He has seen it. When Jesus came in the flesh to that same temple, He drove out the money changers and quoted these very words, showing whose house it was.

Covenant God of Israel

But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. Jeremiah 7:23

Jehovah restates the heart of His covenant from Sinai: obedience to His voice matters more than sacrifice. The God who made this covenant is the premortal Christ.

The Lord who sent His servants the prophets

Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them: Jeremiah 7:25–26

The Lord recounts sending prophet after prophet to a people who would not listen. Jesus tells the same story in His parable of the vineyard, where the servants are rejected and at last the owner's son is sent and slain.
