Surety
Surety — one who pledges himself to pay another's debt (striking hands sealed the pledge)
Lay down now, put me in a surety with thee; who is he that will strike hands with me? Job 17:3
Job asks who will stand as his guarantor before God and strike hands to take on his debt. The New Testament names Jesus that surety: He took our debt upon Himself.
