Jehovah

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Leviticus 17:1–2

Jehovah, the premortal Christ, commands that all sacrifice be brought to Him at His tabernacle.

Atonement of Jesus Christ

For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. Leviticus 17:11

Jehovah explains why blood is sacred: life is in it, and He gave it on the altar to atone for souls. This is the principle behind every sacrifice and is fulfilled when Jesus Christ gave His own life-blood, the blood that truly atones for our souls.
