Jehovah

LORD (Jehovah) — the covenant name, "I AM", the premortal Christ

The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. Proverbs 18:10

The name of Jehovah, the premortal Christ, is a place of safety for the righteous. Latter-day Saints also learn that salvation and protection come through His name, which covenant people take upon themselves. Contrast the rich man's wealth, his false strong city, in verse 11.

How we know: Jehovah is the premortal Christ (Abraham 1:16; D&C 110:3–4)

Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD. Proverbs 18:22

A good marriage is a gift and a sign of Jehovah's favour.

How we know: Jehovah is the premortal Christ (Abraham 1:16; D&C 110:3–4)

Friend

A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24

In context this means a loyal friend. Christians have long applied it to Jesus Christ, who laid down His life for His friends and never leaves us.
