I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD. Psalms 140:6–8

David calls Jehovah the strength of his salvation, the One who shields him. Salvation comes through Jehovah, who is Jesus Christ.

I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor. Psalms 140:12–13

Jehovah defends the afflicted and the poor, and the upright will dwell in His presence.
