Psalms 36

Jehovah

Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds. Psalms 36:5–7

The LORD (Jehovah, the premortal Christ) is praised for mercy and faithfulness that reach to heaven. The image of trusting under His wings is the same one Jesus later used for Himself as a hen gathering her chickens.

Fountain of Life and Light

For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. Psalms 36:9

The LORD is the source of life and light. Jesus later declared Himself the living water and the light of the world, so this verse points to what He offers.
