The Great King

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. Psalms 48:1–2

Zion is 'the city of the great King.' Jesus used these very words for Jerusalem; the Great King who dwells there is Jehovah, Christ Himself.

LORD of Hosts

LORD of hosts — Jehovah, Lord of the armies of heaven

As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah. Psalms 48:8

The LORD of hosts establishes His city forever. Jehovah, the LORD of hosts, is the premortal Christ.
