Jehovah (the LORD), my King and my God

Jehovah — the covenant name, 'I AM,' the eternal One

Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. Psalms 5:1–3

David prays each morning to the LORD, whom he calls his King and his God. Latter-day Saints understand Jehovah, Israel's King, to be the premortal Jesus Christ.

How we know: Jehovah is the premortal Christ (Abraham 1:16; D&C 110:3–4)

• the same title in Isaiah 44:6 — Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts.

Those who love His name

But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. Psalms 5:11–12

Those who trust the LORD and love His name rejoice under His protection. Latter-day Saints see the name of the LORD as the name of Christ that covenant people love and take upon themselves.
