Rock

Rock of our salvation — the sure foundation on which salvation rests

O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Psalms 95:1–2

Jehovah is 'the rock of our salvation.' Paul teaches that the Rock that followed Israel was Christ, and Helaman teaches us to build on the rock of our Redeemer.

Creator

For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. Psalms 95:3–6

Jehovah is the great King and the Maker whose hands formed the sea and dry land. The premortal Christ created the earth under the Father's direction, so we kneel before Him.

Good Shepherd

For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice, Psalms 95:7

Israel is the flock that Jehovah pastures and leads by hand. Jesus revealed Himself as the Good Shepherd whose sheep hear His voice.

Jehovah

For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice, Psalms 95:7–11

Jehovah speaks in the first person about Israel testing Him for forty years in the wilderness. Paul says Israel 'tempted Christ' there, so the speaker is the premortal Christ. The Doctrine and Covenants explains that 'my rest' is the fulness of His glory, His presence.
