The King Riding on a Colt (Triumphal Entry)
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. Zechariah 9:9
Zechariah foretells a humble King bringing salvation who rides into Jerusalem on a young donkey. Jesus fulfilled this exactly on Palm Sunday, and the Gospel writers quote this verse.

Millennial Reign
And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth. Zechariah 9:10
The same King ends war and speaks peace to all nations, ruling the whole earth. This looks forward to the reign of Christ, the Prince of Peace.

Atonement
As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water. Zechariah 9:11–12
Prisoners are set free from a dry pit because of 'the blood of the covenant.' Christ's covenant blood frees captives from sin and death, and Latter-day Saints see here His power to open the prison even to the spirits of the dead.

Good Shepherd
And the LORD their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land. Zechariah 9:16
Jehovah saves His people as a shepherd saves his flock and makes them jewels in His crown. Jesus identifies Himself as that Shepherd.
