Shiloh — the ruler from Judah

Shiloh — traditionally 'he to whom it belongs', the peaceful one

Howbeit the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel: 1 Chronicles 28:4

David says God chose Judah to be the ruling tribe, echoing Jacob's blessing that the sceptre would not depart from Judah until Shiloh came. Jesus Christ, born of Judah through David, is that promised ruler.

Son of David, heir of the everlasting throne

And of all my sons, (for the LORD hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel. 1 Chronicles 28:5–7

The throne is called 'the throne of the kingdom of the LORD', and its heir is called God's son. Solomon's hold on it depended on his obedience, and he did not stay constant; only Jesus Christ, the perfectly obedient Son of God and Son of David, receives that kingdom for ever.

Mercy Seat

Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch, and of the houses thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper chambers thereof, and of the inner parlours thereof, and of the place of the mercy seat, 1 Chronicles 28:11–12

David passes on a temple pattern received by the Spirit, centered on the place of the mercy seat where atoning blood was sprinkled. The mercy seat points to Jesus Christ, through whose blood we receive mercy, and the earthly sanctuary pattern points to the heavenly one where He ministers.

Jehovah

Jehovah — the covenant name, 'I AM', the premortal Christ

And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD. 1 Chronicles 28:20

David promises that the LORD will never fail or forsake Solomon in doing His work. This is Jehovah's covenant faithfulness, the same promise Christ gives His followers today.
