Jehovah

Jehovah (LORD) — the covenant name of God, 'I AM', the ever-living One

Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever. 1 Chronicles 29:10–11

David praises the LORD, Jehovah, who is the premortal Jesus Christ. When Jesus taught His disciples to pray, the closing words 'thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory' echo this very prayer of David.

How we know: Jehovah is the premortal Christ (Abraham 1:16; D&C 110:3–4)

Jehovah

O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee: 1 Chronicles 29:18

The God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel is Jehovah. Nephi identifies this same God as the one who would come to earth and give Himself into the hands of wicked men, that is, Jesus Christ.

How we know: Jehovah is the premortal Christ (Abraham 1:16; D&C 110:3–4)

Sacrifice as a similitude of Christ

And they sacrificed sacrifices unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings unto the LORD, on the morrow after that day, even a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel: 1 Chronicles 29:21

Animal sacrifice was given from Adam's day as a likeness of the sacrifice of the Only Begotten Son. Israel's thousands of lambs at this coronation feast point to the one Lamb whose offering all of them foreshadowed.

Solomon, the anointed son of David, as a type of Christ

And did eat and drink before the LORD on that day with great gladness. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him unto the LORD to be the chief governor, and Zadok to be priest. 1 Chronicles 29:22–23

Solomon is anointed (the root of the word Messiah) and sits on 'the throne of the LORD' as David's son. He foreshadows Jesus, the greater Son of David, to whom the Father gives the throne of David forever.
