Molten Sea (washing / baptismal font)

And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about. 1 Kings 7:23–26

The great bronze basin on twelve oxen held water for priestly washing, and Latter-day Saint temple baptismal fonts are modeled on it. Washing and baptism point to Christ: we are buried with Him in the water and rise to a new life because of His death and Resurrection.

The shewbread, the "bread of the presence," sat always before the LORD in His house. Jesus declared Himself the bread of life that truly feeds us, and we remember that in the sacrament bread.

The golden lamps lit the holy place in front of the most holy place. Christ is the light of the world; following Him lets us walk out of darkness toward God's presence.
