Offering without blemish

Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the LORD thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto the LORD thy God. Deuteronomy 17:1

Only a perfect animal could be offered, because sacrifice was a likeness of the sacrifice of the Only Begotten. Jesus is the Lamb without blemish and without spot, the only sinless offering.

Law of two or three witnesses

At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death. Deuteronomy 17:6–7

Jesus appealed to this law to show that His own testimony is valid: He bears witness of Himself and the Father bears witness of Him. In John 8 He also turns the rule that the witnesses' hands must strike first against the men who wanted to stone the woman taken in adultery.
