Deuteronomy 7

Redeemer

But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Deuteronomy 7:8

Jehovah redeemed Israel from slavery not because they were many or great, but because He loved them and had given His word. His redeeming of Israel out of Egypt is the pattern of the greater redemption Christ worked with His own blood, also out of love.

Jehovah

Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; Deuteronomy 7:9

Jehovah is faithful: He keeps His covenant and His mercy for a thousand generations toward those who love Him. The covenant God of Israel is the Savior who keeps His promises to us.

Jehovah

Thou shalt not be affrighted at them: for the LORD thy God is among you, a mighty God and terrible. Deuteronomy 7:21

Israel need not be frightened of stronger nations, because Jehovah is in their midst. The God who was among Israel in the wilderness is the Christ who would one day live among men, and He is the reason His people need not be afraid.
