Doctrine and Covenants 59

The Son who prepares mansions in His Father's house

Behold, blessed, saith the Lord, are they who have come up unto this land with an eye single to my glory, according to my commandments. Doctrine and Covenants 59:1–2

The speaker calls God "my Father," so it is the Son speaking. He has prepared places in His Father's mansions for the faithful, just as He promised His disciples.

Serve in the name of Jesus Christ

Wherefore, I give unto them a commandment, saying thus: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy might, mind, and strength; and in the name of Jesus Christ thou shalt serve him. Doctrine and Covenants 59:5

The first great commandment is restated, and God is to be served in the name of Jesus Christ. Our worship and service go to the Father through the Son.

Thou shalt offer a sacrifice unto the Lord thy God in righteousness, even that of a broken heart and a contrite spirit. Doctrine and Covenants 59:8

After Christ's great sacrifice ended animal offerings, He asked His people for a new offering: a broken heart and a contrite spirit.

Sacrament on the Lord's day

And that thou mayest more fully keep thyself unspotted from the world, thou shalt go to the house of prayer and offer up thy sacraments upon my holy day; Doctrine and Covenants 59:9–12

The Sabbath is His holy day, the Lord's day, when the Saints partake of the sacrament in remembrance of Jesus Christ's body and blood.
