The Messianic Line Preserved

And it came to pass that Methuselah, the son of Enoch, was not taken, that the covenants of the Lord might be fulfilled, which he made to Enoch; for he truly covenanted with Enoch that Noah should be of the fruit of his loins. Moses 8:2

Methuselah is left behind so the covenant with Enoch is kept; that covenant (Moses 7:51-53) preserves the seed through which Messiah would come.

Ordained after the Lord's Own Order

And the Lord ordained Noah after his own order, and commanded him that he should go forth and declare his Gospel unto the children of men, even as it was given unto Enoch. Moses 8:19

Noah is ordained 'after his own order', the Lord's order, which latter-day revelation names the Holy Priesthood after the Order of the Son of God, and sent to preach His gospel.

How we know: Jehovah is the premortal Christ (Abraham 1:16; D&C 110:3–4)

Jesus Christ

Believe and repent of your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, even as our fathers, and ye shall receive the Holy Ghost, that ye may have all things made manifest; and if ye do not this, the floods will come in upon you; nevertheless they hearkened not. Moses 8:24

Noah preached the same gospel Adam received: faith, repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. Noah was a preacher of Christ before the Flood.

How we know: the verse itself names Him

• alludes to Moses 6:52 — Adam taught baptism in the name of the Only Begotten, Jesus Christ; 'even as our fathers'.
• the same title in Acts 2:38 — Repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Son of God

Noah identifies Jesus Christ as the Son of God in his pre-Flood preaching.
