Proverbs 24

Judgment

If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works? Proverbs 24:12

Pleading ignorance will not work, because the one who reads hearts and keeps our souls will judge each person by his works. The Father has given all judgment to the Son, and Jesus used this very language of His coming.

Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: Proverbs 24:17–18

Gloating over an enemy's fall displeases the LORD. Jehovah, who later taught 'love your enemies,' sees the heart behind our reactions.
