Psalms 103

Redeemer

Redeemer — one who buys back, rescues, and restores

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Psalms 103:1–5

Jehovah forgives all sins, heals all diseases, and redeems life from destruction. In mortality Jesus did exactly these things, forgiving sins and healing to show He had the power of God. He is the Redeemer.

Atonement

The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. Psalms 103:8–12

The LORD does not give us what our sins deserve; He removes our transgressions as far as east is from west. This removal of sin is accomplished through Jesus Christ's Atonement, after which the Lord promises to remember sins no more.

The LORD has a father's compassion and knows how frail we are. Alma taught that Christ took on our infirmities so He would know, in the flesh, how to help His people.
