Psalms 68

Jehovah

JAH — shortened form of the divine name Jehovah (Yah)

Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him. Psalms 68:4

JAH is a short form of Jehovah, the covenant name of the premortal Jesus Christ. The psalm calls people to praise Him by that name.

Jehovah

O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah: Psalms 68:7–8

The God who went before Israel in the wilderness and came down on Sinai is Jehovah, the God of Israel, who is Christ before His birth.

Ascension

The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place. Psalms 68:17–18

Paul quotes this verse and says it is about Christ, who descended below all things and then ascended on high, freeing captives from death and giving gifts to men.

Resurrection

He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death. Psalms 68:20

Escape from death belongs to the Lord God. The resurrected Christ holds the keys of death and brings all out of the grave.
