David's son who builds the house of the LORD

And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto my name. 1 Kings 5:5

Solomon quotes God's promise that David's son would build a house for the LORD's name. Solomon built a stone temple, but the fuller fulfillment is Jesus Christ, the Son of David, who builds God's eternal house, His Church and His people.

Costly foundation stones of the house

And the king commanded, and they brought great stones, costly stones, and hewed stones, to lay the foundation of the house. 1 Kings 5:17

The temple rested on great, costly stones laid as its foundation. Isaiah later uses a precious foundation stone as a symbol of the Messiah, and Christ is the sure foundation and chief cornerstone of God's house.
