The voice of the Lord

And whatsoever they shall speak when moved upon by the Holy Ghost shall be scripture, shall be the will of the Lord, shall be the mind of the Lord, shall be the word of the Lord, shall be the voice of the Lord, and the power of God unto salvation. Doctrine and Covenants 68:4

When servants speak by the Holy Ghost, their words become the Lord's own voice, who in verse 6 is Jesus Christ.

How we know: Jehovah is the premortal Christ (Abraham 1:16; D&C 110:3–4)

Jesus Christ

Jesus — "Jehovah saves"; Christ — the Anointed One

Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the living God, that I was, that I am, and that I am to come. Doctrine and Covenants 68:6

The Lord names Himself as the one His servants must testify of; the heart of every missionary message is Jesus Christ.

Son of the Living God

Son of the Living God — the literal Son of the Father

Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the living God, that I was, that I am, and that I am to come. Doctrine and Covenants 68:6

Jesus states exactly what to testify: He is the Son of the living God, who existed before, lives now, and will come again.

Baptism in the name of the Son

Go ye into all the world, preach the gospel to every creature, acting in the authority which I have given you, baptizing in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Doctrine and Covenants 68:8

Christ repeats His great commission; baptism is done by His authority and in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

Faith in Christ

And he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, and he that believeth not shall be damned. Doctrine and Covenants 68:9–10

"Even as it is written" points to Jesus' own words at the end of Mark: belief in Him and baptism bring salvation.

Son of Man

Son of Man — Son of Man of Holiness, the Son of the Father (Moses 6:57)

And unto you it shall be given to know the signs of the times, and the signs of the coming of the Son of Man; Doctrine and Covenants 68:11

Christ promises His servants will understand the signs that come before His Second Coming.

Melchizedek Priesthood

Melchizedek — king of righteousness

Wherefore they shall be high priests who are worthy, and they shall be appointed by the First Presidency of the Melchizedek Priesthood, except they be literal descendants of Aaron. Doctrine and Covenants 68:15

The higher priesthood is named for Melchizedek, but it is really the Holy Priesthood after the Order of the Son of God, and Melchizedek himself was a type of Christ.

Faith in Christ the Son of the Living God

Christ — the Anointed One

And again, inasmuch as parents have children in Zion, or in any of her stakes which are organized, that teach them not to understand the doctrine of repentance, faith in Christ the Son of the living God, and of baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of the hands, when eight years old, the sin be upon the heads of the parents. Doctrine and Covenants 68:25

Parents must teach their children faith in Christ, the Son of the living God, as the first principle leading to baptism.

Alpha and Omega

Alpha and Omega — the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet: the beginning and the end

Behold, I am Alpha and Omega, and I come quickly. Amen. Doctrine and Covenants 68:35

Christ closes with His title as the first and last and a promise that His coming is near.
