Lord of the Harvest

Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you my servants, concerning the parable of the wheat and of the tares: Doctrine and Covenants 86:1–7

Jesus gives the latter-day meaning of His own parable. He is the Lord whom the angels wait on to reap the harvest, and He mercifully holds them back so the tender wheat is not destroyed.

Christ

Christ — the Anointed One

For ye are lawful heirs, according to the flesh, and have been hid from the world with Christ in God— Doctrine and Covenants 86:9

The priesthood lineage was preserved, hidden 'with Christ in God,' until it could be restored. Their lives and blessings are safely held in Him.

How we know: the verse itself names Him

• quotes Colossians 3:3 — 'Your life is hid with Christ in God.'

Saviors on Mount Zion — sharing Christ's servant role

Therefore, blessed are ye if ye continue in my goodness, a light unto the Gentiles, and through this priesthood, a savior unto my people Israel. The Lord hath said it. Amen. Doctrine and Covenants 86:11

Isaiah's words about the Lord's Servant being 'a light to the Gentiles' are applied to priesthood holders. By continuing in Christ's goodness they become small saviors to Israel, reflecting the true Savior.
